Courses

How many courses can I take?
You can receive up to 18 graduate credits per Adams State University semester.

How do I enroll for a course?
You can enroll for a course by visiting
www.techtalkpd.com and clicking on “Find Your Course”.  You will complete your Adams State University registration during the first module of the course.

After I register, how long do I have to wait to start my course?
You should receive an email from TechTalk PD with your Course Information Packet within 48 hours.  This email will include directions on how to access the course materials.

Can I cancel my registration?
Once you receive your Course Information Packet, you are unable to cancel your registration.  We do not offer refunds after the registration process is complete.

How do I access the course?
Our courses are operated through CourseSites by Blackboard (www.coursesites.com).  Each course is self-paced.  Modules are comprised of readings, videos, discussion boards, assignments, and assessments.  You need to complete the course in order.  However, you are able to complete it at your own pace.

What is the length of time it takes for evaluation of my coursework once I have completed?
Instructors will evaluate coursework on a rolling basis as it is submitted. Each module will be graded once the module's assignment is submitted.  Typically, instructors will send feedback within 72 hours of submission.

On average, how many hours are required to complete a course?
Participants complete graduate level work at their own pace to complete each course.  Course modules require participants to examine relevant materials including readings, professional articles, and videos. Throughout the course, participants must also contribute to course discussion boards, complete course assignments, and pass course assessments.  Participants also typically spend numerous additional hours experimenting, collaborating with colleagues, and applying coursework in the classroom setting.  Total coursework for each course is equivalent to 15 contact-hours per graduate credit.  These are graduate level courses therefore you must have a bachelor’s degree to receive credit.

How long do I have to finish my course?
You have a minimum of two weeks with a maximum of 3 months from the date of your registration to complete the course.  Should you need an extension due to medical or extenuating family circumstances, please contact TechTalk PD directly prior to your course completion date.   If you would like to apply for a free extension please indicate: 1) The reason for the need (either medical or family), 2) The courses needing extra time, 3) An approximate date when you feel you would be able to submit your coursework.

Will my state, school, or district accept these courses for purposes of recertification and/or salary advancement?
It is the decision of your state, school, or district whether they accept TechTalk PD's courses for these purposes.  We advise you to check with them directly prior to registering for the course.  If you need further documentation for a particular course, please email us at
info@techtalkpd.com or by clicking on http://www.techtalkpd.com/contact-us.html.

Are these courses part of an online degree program?
These courses are not part of an online degree program.  However, if you are already working towards a degree, you should check with your program administrator whether TechTalk PD courses can be used as electives.  Please contact us if you need any course documentation.
